Response Paper #3 Experimental Study

This third response paper gives you the opportunity to explore how Experimental Studies are designed and conducted. Find an academic article (one that is an academic research study using experimental methodology) and read it, paying particular attention to the Methodology and Results sections. As we have discussed in class, these will usually be labeled clearly, but you may find an article that is not as clearly labeled. No problem. By the way, the article should be one of the articles you are using for your project Literature Review. Here is your response paper format: 1. Summarize the design of the study. How is the sample determined? Identify the independent and dependent variables. How are the variables measured? Is there a Pre-test/Post-test measure? 2. Which theory or theories does the author cite as the basis for the study? 3. Summarize the results, paying particular attention to how/if the researcher generalized the results from the sample to the larger population. 4. Finally, offer some feedback on the study. Your paper will probably be something in the range of 1½ to 2 pages, double-spaced. Be sure that you include a link to the article that you are responding to.
