In your small group, post and critique your own audiovisual presentation. In your critique, address the areas where you believe the audiovisual presentation to be particularly strong and also outline the areas where your audiovisual presentation is weak. Additionally, provide a brief overview of the areas where your audience might challenge your findings or recommendation.

Instructions: In response to your peers, critique other students’ evaluation of their presentation and recommend changes to strengthen it. Ask three(3) probing questions to challenge your peers to deepen their analysis and justification of their own ideas.

Student Gi:The powerpoint that is titled AV presentation

Hope you’re doing well with your progress on your ideas. I really enjoyed reading them and I'm looking forward to seeing what you have this week as well. We’re all so different and its great to see the various ideas I would have never considered.

As a strength of my AV presentation I feel that I have a good story to gain the audience’s attention from the start. I also tried to bring that theme of the story through the presentation in order to tie it all in together. Part of this idea came from feedback last week about being persuasive in selling this idea. The other part of this idea comes from how Ethos as a company ended up working with their current investment partners, Brown Bothers and Harriman. One of the members of the team at the Boston branch of BBH was a client of the hospital and was impressed with the service he looked further into the company and connected with CEO. The rest, as they say, is history. Hopefully it is something you can all find relatable and would persuade you as a pet owner to try a telehealth service. It is also intended to show any investors or business partners who may or may not be pet owners that this is a valuable endeavor if they could imagine themselves using the service.

As a weakness, I do need to revisit some of the audio quality and polish my presentation stumbles. What is odd to me is that I found I feel more comfortable at work in front of an audience giving a presentation than I did making a recording. The recording aspect make me feel more nervous and less natural so I will work to make it better in the next iteration. I do aim for simplicity in visuals when making presentations and only add what I feel will highlight the point and not distract. I would hope the stripped down approach is not boring to an audience.

As a potential critique I could see the audience giving, and an area I also would like feedback on, is how the flow of the presentation works. Is the progression of slides and information correct to paint a full picture of the idea and structure? Is there anything omitted you would like to see as an audience? An audience well informed in the veterinary and business industry may challenge some of the assumptions regarding the future of veterinary care. Much is unknown at this time if the pandemic will force continued adaptations and for how long. Unfortunately, this is not an answer I can give in entirety as it is impossible to see the future however current trends would suggest this is a demand pet owners would have into the future. As was highlighted in the presentation, statistics have shown there are pet owners who find the idea appealing. The exact number was 85% of pet owners surveyed, and this was well before any pandemic necessities were in place (Green, 2017). It is also important to consider that the majority of pet owners now are of the Millennial generation which is generally characterized as being comfortable and accepting of technology and the conveniences it can provide them (Goldman, 2020).  It is my best assumption based on trends we are seeing currently that something will need to change with the industry in order to meet demand while working with limited support. It is likely that the demand will be realized out of greater availability and pet owner education on the offerings allowing Ethos a first to market advantage.

Student An: The PowerPoint titled Tivity Health SpringyFeet

Hi Group, I will start by saying I was a bit nervous in front of the camera, but for my first attempt at an audiovisual and a powerpoint, I felt challenged by this. My attachment was long, so before I critique myself, I will try to post the presentation. I expect to refine it before the final project which is due at the end of our capstone.

While I am waiting for the upload I will do the critique. I believe I had areas of strength in presenting the timeline of the project, the key deliverables as far as the value it would bring our Medicare population, and positive attitude in my presentation to stakeholders.

Areas of weakness are perhaps that I added an individual visual to each slide, and in a few slides I appeared nervous ie I was standing so paced around at times. I maybe will incorporate a one piece video for my final, instead of one video for each slice, and also include some Q&A that stakeholders may have regarding the viability of my project long term.

Overall I hope you enjoyed my presentation. At the very least we can smile at ourselves as we attempt to end our student MBA program on a high note, get to share our ideas, and learn from each other what works best, and what doesn't.
