Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is indeed an advanced application software framework that synchronises, facilitates and incorporates corporate operations through divisions of financing, human capital, production, supply, and many others (Schlee, 2014). Usually, around an embedded computing infrastructure, ERP systems work utilizing standard data descriptions that function on a centralized device. Perfectly functioning ERP systems allow companies to minimise the time taken to perform nearly any business operation. They further facilitate cooperation by knowledge sharing structured along common meanings of information, which leads to better decision-making (Schlee, 2014). A consolidated collection of ERP programmes, though being a greater target, seems to be easier to protect instead data spread over hundreds of devices.

If me being the IT manager of a pharmacy distribution company, I would certainly concentrate of the ERP system that best suits the company. Since the foundation of any Pharmacy Distribution Company is based on three major aspects which are: distribution, customers and the vendors the ERP system for it would also be based on these aspects (Vuksic & Spremic, 2005).

ERP system in a distribution company is used to manage the company’s marketing, consumers and their orders. Even the ERP system could be used to manage the sales agents of their company. The ERP system is also used to store the information related to the customers and this information further is used by the sales people to conduct their sales (Vuksic & Spremic, 2005). The ERP system is also beneficial in storing the invoice process and the other details like management of credits. The payment mechanism between the firm and clients, and industry and suppliers would be provided by ERP. Sales agents collect orders with most of the information, create receipts and handle the clients' credit restoration.

Also ERP system would help the distribution company to save and maintain the list of vendors and the products. It would further help to manage the stock for the delivery services of the company. With the help of the ERP system the company would get all the details about the product available for distribution. ERP system would also benefit in managing the financial agreements between the vendors and the firm (Vuksic & Spremic, 2005).

The company would have a good picture of their expenditures, profit margin, unrealized losses through the use of the ERP method. The company could modify policies for organisational advancement on the basis of the information presented by the ERP analyses (Schlee, 2014).
