My most significant challenges in developing my draft chapters filter down to three core issues. These were not truly understanding the way ahead, time, and additional assignments. Time and additional assignments go hand in hand. During the first four classes, I had a hard time focusing on the DSP. My attention went towards the Case Study, as they were graded higher than the SLP’s. Even though these cases studies were interesting to me, they did not directly contribute to my DSP. This changed in Class DOC 670. Being able to focus on assignments that contribute to my DSP allowed me to make quite some progress in my Chapter 3. My Chapter 2, on the other hand, needs quite a bit of work. DOC 650 caught me by surprise when we had to submit a 20-page literature review in the last two weeks of the Class. Looking ahead and paying attention to the syllabus would have helped ensure the successful execution of this Class. Chapter 1 was primarily the exploration phase. Not truly understanding what I will be researching left me with quite some work ahead.

The learning experience so far was excellent. I have enjoyed the journey and appreciate the professors and my classmates. The discussions showed me that I was not the only one feeling like I am falling behind after submitting my Chapter 2. DOC 670 was so far my best learning experience. Being able to work through the assignments and use them in my DSP was very beneficial. It gave me the feeling of moving forward and accomplishing small bite-size goals. This allowed me to feel accomplished and left me motivated for the following modules.

My way ahead for this and future classes are first and foremost to read and understand the syllabus. Allowing for a clear understanding of what will be asked from me. Furthermore, I made it a habit to read ahead and look at the Case Assignments, and SLP’s the week before the Class's start day. This will allow me to understand what lies ahead and, therefore, enables me to better prepare and manage my assignments. To successfully do that, I will plan out my week with daily target goals, which allows me to stay on target. Lastly, I saved all the feedback I received from my previous professors. Working through once again will enable me to take a fresh look at my Chapters and adjust these drafts accordingly.
