In my opinion, animal testing of any kind is cruel. However, I believe in certain circumstances it is necessary and can provide a lot of information into certain subjects such as learning about functions of the body and preventing certain disorders. The American Heart Association shared that, "Animal research has improved the health and welfare of animals and humans. The decline in death rates in the United States from heart disease and stroke since the 1960s is due to lifestyle changes and new methods of treatment and prevention, many of which are based on animal research." Although it's cruel and sad to people, without the testing of animals we would not be so far advanced and developed in medicine and the knowledge of our bodies without testing on animals. I think that all the animals that are being used for these testing purposes need to be treated with the same responsibility and care that they would treat their own animals. It's hard for me to side with the testing on animals, but I understand that in order to progress further and possibly find cures and prevention of certain disorders or illnesses, the testing is necessary.
