TOPIC: THE IMPACT OF ECOTOURISM ON THE ISLAND OF GRAND TURK, TURK AND CAICOS ISLANDS

INSTRUCTION: You are required to submit a research proposal around a research topic from the areas of: Human Resource Management or Business and Finance. This is a research proposal; therefore, you will not be required to complete the research at this point. You will present your proposal to the class on the stipulated date.

· Why do you want to submit a proposal on this topic?

Guiding Question/Hypothesis:

· Identify and state what research question you are trying to answer.

Literature Review: Outline/Rough Draft _____/20

· Research other studies, articles, journal entries about that topic. Not books

· Identify 7-8 sources that provide information to support your research interest/hypothesis

· Before writing your literature review, you must create an outline that demonstrates how your review of the literature will be organized

· After you identify your sources, you will provide a comprehensive analysis of your sources and an explanation of how the sources connect to your research proposal.

Methods: Rough Draft ____/35

Participants/Subjects: (Each section is about a paragraph in length.) (10 marks)

· Description of who is going to participate in your study.

· What is the reasoning behind choosing these specific participants?

· What is the demographic information of your participants?

Procedures: (sampling, execution of experiment) (10 marks)

· How will you conduct your research study?

· Outline the logistics of your study.

· Examples: Will choose five males (11-13 age group), give them three different scenarios about morality (list the scenarios), and then I will analyze their answers.

Data Analysis: In this section, you are essentially predicting how you will interpret your data. (10 marks)

· Is this a qualitative or quantitate study?

· How will you analyze your hypothetical data?

· Explain how to most effectively organize your potential results.

Limitations: (5 marks)

· What are some issues/problems that your research proposal might have?

· Examples: Not enough participants, only teenage females, did used a trained professional, did not think about outside influences

· 5-8 Additional sources that were used to research your proposed problem.

· Please use APA for citations

Presentation (visual & oral) 10 marks

Final Paper (Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, References) 75 marks
