Research Project

A behavior that I observed was aggression. Aggression is a hostile or violent

behavior or attitudes toward; readiness to attack or confront. Within my field

experience I did observe the two-year-old kicking, fighting, and biting which

exemplifies all the signs in being aggressive. It is obvious to see when toddlers are

at this age, they begin to have strong feelings but not able to use language therefore

they express themselves through their actions. Toddlers don’t have the self-control

to control themselves. Aggression is a normal trait of your toddler's development.

The impulsiveness, and the desire to become independent make children for

becoming more aggressive. Throughout my observation I noticed when the two

year did not get her way she would get so upset to where she turned red in the face

and she would then hit who whoever is in her way which is not a good trait.

Another behavior I observed with her when she is playing with baby dolls, she

would make the dolls hit one another. I thought that was obscured. Although she

did not mean any harm, she aggressive in so many ways without her even

knowing. She's at an age where she expresses all her feelings through emotions

which is understandable. She wants exactly what she wants when she wants it. She

is so aggressive she gives demands like she is running the show. There are no exact

theories of aggression but there is hypothesis that leads up to this behavior.

However, what I have read and put together is aggression is always preceded by

frustration, and frustration always leads to aggression.
