Due: May be turned in any time before April 5.

This assignment is to be typed and double spaced between 1000 and 1500 words and submitted on Blackboard.

You have presented your ideas for a research project. The next step is to learn if other scientists have completed the same or similar projects. Provide information from at least four studies from other researchers that you believe relates to your idea. As you review the literature, articles and studies, address these questions:

· What hypothesis did the researcher study?

· What methods did the researcher use: case study; naturalistic observation; laboratory observation; experiment; psychological tests; survey or correlation?

· What types of subjects were recruited: male, female, children or adults?

· And what were the results?

· Will these results or findings change the way you decide to conduct your own research?

· Present the research information you gathered from these studies and your conclusions as they relate to your own research idea.

Be sure to explain fully each of the areas in your own words and indicate with quotation marks any material taken directly from an article or study. Refer to SafeAssign on Blackboard to double check your work. No score should be higher than 10%.

Include a Work Cited page to list your references with the name of the article, the journal or book, the writer, the date of the article or book and page numbers if indicated. Indicate within your paper which source you are citing.

The previse assignment

Aging and Mental illness

There is so much perception that revolves around aging and mental illness some of them is not proved. Therefore, selecting this topic for this research paper will help in clearing out some of the misconceptions that have clouded the topic. The research paper will rely entire of the peer-reviewed content to layout information on the research topic. Psychology is the science of behavior and the mind and when talking about mental illness is a state of mental dysfunction. The research topic is surrounded by mixed reactions that triggered this research.

Mental illness is not restricted to aging there are other factors that may trigger the mental diseases or it may be transmitted genetically (Segal et al., 2018). Therefore, it is necessary that the research should be carried out to identify to identify the cause of the condition rather than rushing to make conclusions out of guessing. The research paper predicts that much will be exposed on the research topic as well as perceptions will be buried on the same.

The case study will be an important method of facts collection that will do with my hypothesis I will identify patients suffering from this condition analyze their ages and other background information (Yin, 2011). The findings obtained will help in making the conclusion if indeed aging causes mental illness. My selection of this method is the fact that the information will be first hand because I will visit as a psychiatric hospital to make the observation before I visit some of their homes to analyze if there are other factors that triggered their mental illness. The research will also borrow facts from the secondary sources when it comes to compiling the conclusion and recommendations.
