Identify and describe the type of research design

In the conducting of the study, the random research design method was adapted. The techniques which could be used in the research included cognitive restructuring, this is where the patient takes a hard look at the negative thoughts patterns. For the technique, it could be used when a situation is being seen negatively as well as changing views concerning it. Journaling is the other technique that can be adapted, in this you write down then keep track of the feelings and what going on with you. The other technique is role-playing which could be used, this is where you talk through the event and what is leading one to have feelings that are experienced. Relaxation is the other technique that could be used. In this one has to take a deep breath, listen to music or color.

Population sample

In carrying out this study the therapists and the evaluators worked with a number of 40 children that were being assigned 16 sessions of the CBT or the 3 months’ waitlist.

Plan of Data collection

In the collection of the data, the therapists had sessions with every individual member of the family in assessing the extent of the situation. The evaluators who were blind to the treatment carried out structured interviews as well as parents completed anxiety symptoms checklists at the beginning and the end. For the CBT group with a much-improved rate than for the waitlist group. They continued improving on four months follow up.
