1.0 Collect Project Requirements

The requirements for this project were collected from both Peter Company and Corwin Corporation. The project team was able to gather the requirements from the project brief that was provided to the Group-A team.

1.1 Project Requirements:

1.1.1 Business requirements for the Peter’s Company (company-level perspective)

· Development of new rubber product material with a budget $250,000 by Corwin Corporation

· Signed, Sealed & Delivered contract from Corwin Corporation within 48 hours

· Proposal presentation by Corwin Corporation

· Representative will be sent to Corwin during the execution of the project

1.1.2 Business requirements for the Corwin Corporation (company-level perspective)

· Specialty product projects must earn 20% profit similar to existing products

· Any profitability in terms of follow-on contracts if specialty product project is taken up

· Possibility of developing specialty product into product line

· No-disruption of current manufacturing operations due to specialty product project

· Want to complete the Peter’s new product development product within the given budget

1.1.3 Stakeholder requirements

1.1.3.1 Delia

· New product development must be done with $250,000 budget

· Contract must be fixed cost

· Acceptance of contract within 48 hours

· Proposal presentation

1.1.3.2 Royce:

· Specification sheet to assess risk

· Contracting person for assistance in costing the project

· Reddy’s support to West

1.1.3.3 Frimel:

· Specification sheet to study feasibility and decide go or no-go with the project

· Approval from president to take on the project

· Final contract or Letter of Intent to start the project

1.1.3.4 Reddy:

· Once in a while update on the status from West

· All information and cost data from West

· In-house representative from Peter Corp must be accompanied by Corwin employees

1.1.3.5 West:

· Specification sheet

· Balance 25 test conditions need to be decided

· Support from other functional teams

1.1.3.6 Ray:

· Wanted his test matrix to be used to attain the project result

· Wants the member from the functional team removed from the project

· Wants the Corwin management to replace West with a new project manager

1.1.4 Solution requirements

Functional: New product must be as per the specification sheet provided by Peter Corporation

Non-Functional: Test data of the product developed must be in-line to the Peter Corporation expectations

1.1.5 Project requirements

· Must be completed within $250,000

· New product must be as per the specification

· Letter of Intent or Signed Contract to kick off the project

· Raw material sourcing

· Functional Employees

· In-representative approval of test results

1.1.6 Transition requirements (should successful R&D occur)

· New Test matrix that helps the project toward close-out

· Additional fund required to continue the project

· Support from functional teams
