Overview You have been assigned one system design produced by other project teams and in this assignment you will critically analyze it. You goal is to provide a thorough assessment of the design's strengths and weaknesses, and to provide as much constructive advice about improving it as possible.

Assignment Evaluate the Project's Requirements Summary

Identify the strengths of the requirements provided, and enter them in the corresponding rubric item. Critique the stated requirements for the project in terms of clarity, completeness, and verifiability. If any ambiguity is located, suggest corrections. If any requirements are not verifiable (via testing, formal reviews, or some other mechanism), suggest corrections. If any significant functional or non-functional requirements are missing, suggest corrections. Evaluate the High-Level Design

Identify the strongest areas of the design and briefly describe them (there is no need to restate or summarize large amounts of material from the project design or rationale) in the corresponding rubric item. Critique the given high-level design in terms of clarity, conceptual cohesiveness, and traceability. Identify any aspects of the design that may be "brittle" or that may resist foreseeable changes or enhancements to the product. Enter comments and 1-5 ratings in the corresponding rubric items.

Evaluate the Design Rationale

Critique the design rationale, paying particular attention to the rationale for key design decisions. Are there any functional enhancements you envision as likely that are not discussed? Are sound reasons given for the major choices embodied in the design? Were any significant design choices made without a documented rationale? Enter comments and ratings in the corresponding rubric items.

Suggest Improvements

If you identified any major or minor weaknesses, suggest possible ways the design might be improved or the rationale strengthened. Be specific with your suggestions, and be thorough in explaining the reasons behind

them. Assume that your role is to provide constructive advice to the development team on how to improve their work in progress.

Summarize Your Analysis

Conclude your analysis with a summary of its most important points. Were the requirements strong overall, or were there fatal flaws? Were there notable weaknesses in the design? Can they be remedied? Or was the design solid?
