There is an article summary due at the end of Topic 6. The instructions specify that the peer-reviewed article come from the GCU library. It is advised that you read the assignment instructions and rubric carefully so that you know what you are expected to do and how the paper will be scored. I have included a few tips below that will help you achieve success:

· The paper must contain between 500 and 700 words. Papers that contain a word count significantly below or above the requirement will not achieve a top score. The ability to write a comprehensive, yet concise, summary is an important skill for the graduate student.

· The article you review must be peer-reviewed and current (published within the past five- seven years).

· The article must be from the GCU library. No exceptions.

· The topic of the article must be relevant to early or middle adulthood.

· The major tenets of the entire article must be included in the summary. This means you will go beyond merely rewriting the abstract.

· A relevant psychological theory must be applied. The theory must pertain to early or middle adulthood and there must be an explanation of how the theory applies to the topic of the article. If you are unsure whether the theory you selected is applicable, please contact me via the Private Forum with your article title, topic, and possible theory. I will provide feedback about the applicability of the theory.

· Your personal reaction to the article (not the general topic) must be included and be about the same length as the summary. You need to explain what you liked and did not like about the article and provide an explanation for why you feel that way. Support your opinion with peer-reviewed research.

· You need to use two to three scholarly sources to support your discussion (peer-reviewed journal articles).

· There should be an introductory paragraph that clearly presents the purpose of the paper and the major points that will be discussed and a concluding paragraph to sum and reflect on the major points of the paper.

· All sources must be credible. This means that they are scholarly. This also means that each source is traceable from the reference. If the full reference information is not present, then the source cannot be traced which makes the source not credible.

· This is an APA style formatted paper. Use the APA template. Consult the APA 7th edition resources located in the Student Success Center for information regarding appropriately citing and referencing sources.
