First of all, the Information System Structure is in charge of collect, process, store and distribute information. The system has five components computer hardware, computer software, telecommunications, databases and data warehouse and human resources and procedures. Also, the information system is composing by four components which are: task, people, roles and technology. In other words, using technology to have a more effective system by guaranteeing quality assurance. The system evolves every day with the development of new technologies, which make the human keep learning in order to develop a system for the company, but once the system is creating with all the company requirements the results will come as a consequence. For example, I used to work at a hotel as a Housekeeping Manager and some years ago the housekeepers will receive paper sheets every morning with the rooms they had to clean, after they were clean the supervisor will go and check the rooms to make sure that they can be ready for the guests. This process took so much time and work plus it was not effective. A couple of years ago, a supervisor realize that they needed a change, so he start creating a program that will satisfy the needs of the hotel and make it simple for the housekeepers and supervisors to understand it. So, he developed an app that will show the rooms for every housekeeper and the rooms that the supervisor needed to check once the housekeeper select the clean option in their app. This save the company a lot of time and money. Plus, there were less mistakes and we assure a better customer service and quality to the guests. So, using technology is vital in the world that we live nowadays.

The combination of both software and hardware infrastructure such as servers, storage devices, etc is called information systems. These information systems are driving the organizations today as they are used to store and access the data among various teams in the organization. These information systems are required by the organizations to analyze and make proper strategic decisions.        

            Over the years, there has been a significant evolution of information systems that are aiding the organizations in their operations. In the earlier phases of information systems, organizations have used these information systems for processing the data but today they are being used as a core part of the organizational structure. Most of the decisions in an organization are based on the huge data and therefore they need these information systems to process and access such large volume of data. During the early stages of evolution, information systems consisted of computers that are of the size of a room that used vacuum tubes. But today we can see portable devices such as laptops, mobiles, tablets, etc.          

            The information systems have evolved in such a way that most of the current day systems use transistors or integrated circuits in their design. All these have made information systems more portable and easy to carry. The mainframe computers are then used for business applications etc. However, over the years they have evolved to a stage of supercomputers that are used to perform high-level calculations, etc.

            As far as software is concerned, there are many new technologies that have been developed over the years. Applications like SAP and ERP are used by organizations to manage their resources effectively. Organizations are also able to monitor their performance with the help of these applications. Other important technologies include cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc. Organizations can reduce their operational costs with the help of cloud computing. On a whole, we can say that information systems have evolved to such high levels that they are inevitable in any business organization.
