Be sure that you identify the purpose of your reflection, organize your subjects and your points effectively, and support your points with details that you observe in the images. If you deem it appropriate, you may include the photos in the body of your essay.

· Essay contains an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion

· Writer uses transitions

· Thesis is clear and focused

· Paragraphs contain topic sentences

Grammar and Mechanics / Style and Editing (30 points)

· Writer uses varied sentence types and structures

· Writer uses sophisticated, college-level vocabulary

· Essay is virtually free of grammatical errors (fragments, run-ons, comma splices, misspellings, word choice, capitalization errors, missing words, singular/plural/past/present tense confusion)

· Punctuation is correct

Format (10 points)

· Essay length is between 800 to 1200 words.

· Font and font size is correct (either Times New Roman or Calibri and 11-point size)

· Essay follows MLA formatting guidelines and contains a title page with proper headers and title (Refer to the sample first page in the course syllabus)
