· Asian Americans – as with other Tier II ethnic groups, have grater pressure to assimilate into Anglo-conformity wherein being “whitened” signifies a status above a race category. How do you surmise the importance of race, skin color, and/or class status as a condition of mainstream Americanization assimilation through this Tier II ethnic group?
