How to Complete a Reflection Assignment

Reflection Guidelines

These assignments ask you to reflect on your learning and make connections to

your personal, professional and public life.

Twice during the semester, students will complete a short essay:

Mid-term: End of Module Five.

End of Semester: During Finals Week.

These surveys are worth 20 points each, and involve writing 2-3 pages with

three distinct paragraphs.

Reflection Grading

Fully explain your responses: one word answers, and under-explained ideas

will not receive credit.

Responses should be specific, incorporating sound reasoning and detailed

examples to illustrate your ideas.

Concepts and skills must be correctly explained.

Connection between course material and your examples should be clear

and accurate.

Responses should be specific to the course material.

Responses should select a different skill or concept for each prompt (don’t

repeat yourself).

All responses should be classroom appropriate.
