scale of 1–5 in regards to several different criteria.
• Evaluation of Applicant (Part II) - A letter of recommendation which can be entered online or may be uploaded in .PDF format.
• If your writer’s language of preference is Japanese, let them know that they can switch the application portal into Japanese.
Create a Reference Request
When you create a reference request on the portal, an email will be sent to the reference.
Advise your references to monitor their junk /spam folders for messages from no-reply@jetapplication.com, subject heading "JET Program Evaluation Request", as these emails are sometimes filtered as spam.
Confirm with your references that they have received the notification. Let them know they can email jetprogram@ws.mofa.go.jp or call (202) 238-6772 if they are having issues.
Monitor/ Follow up with Reference Writers
It is the applicant's responsibility to monitor the status of their reference requests (requested, de- clined, in-progress, or completed) on the application portal.
