September 25, 2022 Subject: BreatheEZ Rescue Inhalers Dear QuantaCare Employee, This morning our company received notification that one of the BreatheEZ rescue inhalers was defective. A 21 year old male tried to use it when he was suffering an asthma attack, but it failed. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of information at this time. I understand that many of you will have questions and concerns, and I encourage you to call or email me with them. Donna Chiatti, our Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, is already leading an investigation to determine the cause of the defect, and I will keep you all informed regarding any new developments. All consumer questions regarding the BreatheEZ rescue inhaler should be directed to our customer service number at 1-877-555-3000. I realize some of you use BreatheEZ rescue inhalers or have family members who do. Call your doctor or practicioner as soon as possible for an alternative medicine. If you have prescription coverage through this company, the alternative treatment will be fully covered under the insurance. If you have other insurance, and the new medication is not covered, ask your doctor to request an exception based on medical necessity. Please do not answer any questions from the public or media, but refer them to Gail Yosh, our Vice President of Corporate Communications.
