Qi Han is extremely disorganised: she needs to be given all the necessary equipment at the beginning of every lesson. It is a shame, because Qi has the potential to be a good mathematician. She understands the subject matter faster than many other students. However, without independent practice and written notes, she is bound to forget everything almost immediately. It is not too late to start revising for the examinations: I have already handed out several practice papers.

Skye has continued to work on her AS Art coursework this term, producing increasingly sophisticated outcomes, that use printmaking to create patterned based paintings. However, she still has a number of unfinished pieces that she has yet to conclude. She also started the examination project, for which she has chosen the title Recycled. This choice placed her on a rather difficult path of creating clothes using recycled materials. Allied with her poor levels of attendance, she has failed to produce anything like the amount of development work that she needs at this stage. Skye has moments of intensity, when she works well and can produce some good work but these are far too infrequent. Despite the cancellation of examinations, she should still try and make a number of studies that try to create some sense of idea development across the project, as this work is still likely to go towards her potential grade.

Qui Han has a reasonable level of English and her confidence in speaking enables her to do well in everyday situations. She achieved an overall IELTS band 5.5 in the recent mock examination, which is a slight improvement from her previous score of 5 in the December end-of-term assessment. However, somebody with her potential should be able to achieve much better results. The main problem for Qi is her failure to concentrate in lessons and her unwillingness to put any effort into homework, classroom activities or revision. She needs to change her work ethic and attitude to IELTS if she is to achieve any significant progress next term.

This term Skye has completed her coursework element in Photography and is now working on her examination course. As Skye started the course late, producing sufficient quantity of work in such a short time would be difficult but could be done with constant effort. Skye has produced some good sets of photographs that are relevant to her ideas. However, she is inconsistent with her efforts, which results in both her coursework and exam projects being underdeveloped. As there is now very little time before the end of the course, she needs to try and complete further sets of photography, especially for her examination theme of Windows. Despite the recent government announcement of a cancellation of examinations, she should still work towards this end, as there has yet been no confirmation as to how subjects will be finally marked.
