Week 1 Introduction
Welcome to Psychology of Human Sexuality!
Biological, psychological, and social factors inform human sexuality. This week, we will
introduce you to the theoretical approaches to understanding the principles of human
sexual behavior.
Lehmiller's (2017) The Psychology of Human Sexuality, Chapter 1 provides an overview of
the field and explains how various theoretical approaches support studying and discussing
human sexuality. In support of this reading, the first Crash Course video will give you a
fun and engaging look at how psychologists study human sexuality. The chapter "Lumen
Learning Introduction to Sexual Behavior," will give you an overview of our topics for this
