Dining hall elevator pitch:

1) Introduce the lack of choices at university

On csusm campus, we know that there’s a lack of healthy food choices and we must take that into serious consideration. There are also times when students after a class or maybe from their Quad’s directly go to their favorite restaurant to eat food while leaving their friends behind since they are hungry and that’s ok. This lack of choice not only makes the campus less appealing but also proves to be a bad health choice for the students. So, we have been thinking about how to tackle this situation. And voila, we got an idea just for you!

2) Proposing the hall and food

We are proposing a revamped dining hall available for all CSUSM students that will offer nutritious meals that change on a weekly basis. The location will be a remodeled version of the food court fitted as a buffet-style dining hall. The dining hall will have a meal plan structure and costs will be covered with tuition fees.

3) Talk about the finances

We are going to need $150,000 and these funds will go towards the construction of the dining hall and other items such as tables, chairs, and dining utensils. This entire project will take about 9 months to build.

4) Benefits of the hall

About the benefits, Firstly, It can provide a more convenient and friendly dining environment so that all our students and employees can eat on campus. Secondly, It can provide a rich variety of food to balance the nutrition of students and employees. Thirdly, It can reduce the economic pressure on students' eating. It is cheaper than most of the restaurants. Lastly, more part-time positions in schools can be provided so that students have enough places to take part-time jobs.
