This challenge is response to the
letter from Educators in Partnership
Challenge Project Logistics
Parameters
Your response to this challenge will be developed throughout the rest of the semester. After all, Dewey, Montessori, Erikson, Piaget, Vygotsky, and the rest of our theorists have devoted much of their lives to their work. The challenge does not ask you to address the complete body of work of each of these scholars, for that would be impossible in the time you have.
Instead, you should plan and prepare your response to the Educators in Partnership invitation by including what you’ve learned about your theorist’s ideas in regards of teaching and learning in early childhood and elementary education, best pedagogical practices, and other ways to enhance learning while sparking enjoyment, and then by imagining how those ideas would be implemented in a new school that is not limited by district, state, or national policies and standards.
You may present your challenge response in any form you deem appropriate for the expression of your theorists’ ideas. You may also, if you wish, supplement your response with any media you choose. As a team, you are all responsible for the content of your response to the challenge and for meeting the requirements:
· What are the nuts of bolts of your person’s theory?
· What does your person’s theory mean to teachers?
· What are some specific examples of how your person’s theory would look in the classroom?
· Reference three or more sources for each theorist. (APA format)
· Create a presentation of your response.
Think of your response to this challenge as planting the seeds of ideas that can be developed (philosophically and practically) in the years to come. Your response should be polished and professional.
Notes:
Your written response needs to be well crafted and thoughtful. You should develop your ideas as a team and work together in the writing/editing process as you prepare your final product.
In your cover page, indicate group members and the theorist each one worked with.
