Ethic in Information

Here is a description of the project assignment for which you must address all of the following criteria as that is the basis for grading.

Objective: Write an organizational policy (a text-only report with a total minimum of 1,000 words) to address an IT-related ethical workforce issue that you wrote about in your matrix for the B1 assignment

Look at other policies to see how they are written. The following site provides examples of templates for policies, but an Internet search can provides other templates: http://www.sans.org/security-resources/policies/computer.php

Note: You must produce an original organizational policy in your original expression. Also, do not quote any source text and do not include any graphics of any kind in your project papers. Only use text and original expression - only that will be counted in addressing the minimum word count and addressing the topic criteria.

Submission Requirements: Submit the assignment response for grading in your corresponding project Assignments Folder as a single attached Microsoft Word file (as an .rtf or .doc format file).

In Project B1, you produced a matrix that mapped key organizational issues and identified how these ethical issues were affected by laws, regulations and policies.

For this assignment, you will write an organizational policy that specifically addresses that ethical workforce issue.

The following elements must be addressed using the following required headings:

Overview (heading) of the policy

Purpose (heading) of the policy

Scope (heading) identify the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders

Policy Points (heading) to follow. Note: you should be aware that a policy only describes "what," the staff of an organization will do, while a procedure describes "how," the staff of an organization will accomplish a required action. As a result, this section should only discuss the specific measures, needs, or changes to behavior within the organization in terms of policy points, i.e., what they must do to conform to the policy. Any procedures that are needed to assist in doing the “what,” are usually included by reference later in the policy –  procedures should not be included in the policy points ).

Sanctions/enforcement (heading) of policy

Two other criteria are the basis of grading:

APA Compliance: All reference sources and in-text citations must be used in accord with APA style requirements. For the chosen article, you must   provide both a citation with the body of your text where it is first being referenced AND a corresponding reference after the end of your report. The reference to your online article must include the Web address (URL) that when clicked by a mouse will open a browser to the corresponding Web site (i.e., one that anyone can click on to re-access the original article). Both citation and reference must be in compliance with the American Psychological Association (APA) formatting rules. Note: The URL should be cited in the APA reference for an online article. Here is a link to descriptions and examples of APA references by category of online article publication:
