The campus activity that I participated in is joining an Economic Club which helps learners explore economics other than the normal coursework. The major events coordinated in the club are series of speakers, informal information exchange about current events, economic curriculum, and career and research opportunities. During the summers I volunteered in charitable organizations and helped in analyzing public health data, helped educate the elderly on insurance and investment and making informed decisions. I also helped calculate value of donated good, did accounting and statistical analysis. I also plan to undertake professional examination on part time and get professional certificates which includes certified financial planner, chartered financial analyst, certified business economist and certified international investment analyst. With the professional certificates in addition to my college certificate, I will be prepared well enough with knowledge and skills required to compete in the job market.
After my graduation, I will apply to volunteer in Government Economic Service where I will be able to gain work experience for a period of 6weeks and then shadow in finance and accountancy in the local. This will help me build important skills like time management, communication, team playing, computing, problem solving analytical and numeracy skills. After volunteering during the summer, I will move to Los Angeles and try to find a job since I believe all the work experiences, training and skills I have gotten through would have prepared me enough for the real world competition in the job market. As a curious and eager to learn student, I will find my career path which inspires me and also look for more experiences. I will start my own small business which I believe will grow into a real life business and grow into a big company which will help create jobs for the locals. I believe entrepreneurship will help solve problems most people are facing.
