Project Work- Instructions You will write a report on a chosen construction technique/method or technology that is

innovative and has been in trend in construction projects recently. Conduct an in-depth study

using resources available in the library and on the Internet. There will be no oral presentation but

you will be required to submit a PowerPoint presentation along with the report in electronic

format.

A one page proposal must be submitted and approved by the instructor. Each student shall work

on a different topic. Please check the class schedule for deadlines.

1. Title Page 2. Table of Contents 3. Executive Summary (Total 1000 words or less, 3 paragraphs)

a. Brief Introduction of the chosen topic b. Advantages and disadvantages c. Possible applications

4. Main Body of the report (5-6 pages including tables and pictures) a. Introduction b. History (if any) c. Advantages and disadvantages of the technique/method d. Possible applications in construction e. Step-by-step procedures (with pictures) f. Comparison of chosen technique with other available techniques (of the

same nature) based on:

i. Performance

ii. Speed of construction iii. Cost iv. Site Constraints such as weather, site conditions etc. v. Any other criteria, which you feel important

g. Case Study i. Provide details of a project where this technique has been used.

ii. You may include the pictures of that project as well. h. Contractors or Companies which are currently using this technique or

providing such services (if any)
