1 What did I do and accomplish since the last reflection?

Since the last reflection, I have put some rules in place to help reduce the dependency on the mobile phone. Since this was an addiction, it was not possible to stop it at once, and the best thing to do was to start to regulate the number of hours to spend on the mobile phone. I set up a timetable to control the way and the hours to use the mobile phone. I reduced the number of hours that I was spending on the mobile phone and started spending it on other constructive tasks such as studying.

2 What is the current state as of today?

Back then, dependency was so harmful that I would spend more than 6 hours on my phone. This means that the time to spend on studies and other chores was very little. However, since last time, I have reduced mobile phones from six to two hours. The remaining 4 hours were evenly distributed on other tasks. I spent two of the hours doing my studies and the rest on sleep as I was not getting enough sleep, which affected me the whole day.

3 What is (still) challenging?

Keeping and regulating the exact time set aside for the use of mobile phones is very challenging. As much as I want to use the phone for only two hours, I still end up using it more than expected. Peer pressure on the usage of phones has been a real challenge. Friends are always encouraging me to use the phone while I do not want to.

4 Plan of action for the next day’s/week. What am I going to do to address the challenges?

The best solution for this problem is to involve my parents, who would help set the rules that will be strictly followed. This will help me be able to only use the phone for the time that I have set. When I am not supposed to use my mobile phone, I will avoid the company of those friends who have been a bad influence on me. (Fu, 2020).
