Primary Source analysis guidelines:

Write a 3-4 page reflection on the question(s) and source(s) provided under the module. While 3-4 pages is the minimum you are welcome to write longer responses. Your response should be double-spaced and written in 12 pt. Times New Roman Font. Where applicable with the source(s) you should use either MLA citations or indicate which source you are referring to. Utilize direct quotes from the sources in your analysis. You should not require any other materials, just the sources, as this is about interacting directly with the documents provided.

Good responses will include an introduction and thesis argument based on the question(s) provided, include historical analysis of the source(s) indicated, and be free of spelling and grammar mistakes following all directions.

In addition, make sure that your submitted document is in doc. or docx. format.

Primary Source Analysis Rubric : 100 pts possible total

Student has a clearly stated, well-supported thesis that answers the prompt (20 pts)

Student utilizes all available sources (20 pts)

Student followed all instructions and essay is free of spelling and grammatical mistakes (20 pts)

Student incorporated direct quotes to support their argument (20 pts)

Student offers historical analysis of the sources- essay is not a straight summary (20 pts)
