WEEK BY WEEK PREVIOUS WORK. CURRENTLY ON WEEK 6. NEED HELP ONLY WITH WEEK 6 PLEASE.

WEEK 2

The prewriting stage of the writing process is often overlooked by students who wait too long to begin writing, but it is an important part of the process.

· Begin by choosing a topic: a favorite place, a hated food, a musical group or theatre performance, a best friend, a bully from high school, a profession, something you just learned, a great idea. Whatever you choose, be ready to write a full essay on as part of the Assignments. Although you can change your topic in the next couple of weeks, it will be better if you choose something you like now and stick with it.

· Choose two of the prewriting strategies--research your topic, brainstorm, freewrite, map, or outline--and use them to explore your topic.

· Post your results to the discussion. (If you chose a brainstorm or a mind map, feel free to take a picture and post it).

Specific Instructions: Your initial post should be submitted by 11:59 p.m., ET, on Thursday to be eligible to receive (but not guaranteed) all the points for the initial post. Please respond to at least 2 other students. Responses in ENGL101 are critiques. In other words, it is not enough to simply agree with a point or with the content; rather, you are to pinpoint what works in the structure, word choice, and flow of the writing. You can also point out what doesn't work and offer suggestions for change or improvement.

Hello everyone, The topic I have chosen to write about is chitterlings. I do not like chitterlings, I hate the way they smell and the way they taste but I honestly know nothing about them. I have decided to research and make an outline of what I've learned recently about chitterlings. What I learned about chitterlings is that they are hog intestines. They originated in Medieval England and were used as peasant food. Today chitterlings are still eaten in Europe and all over the USA, mostly southern USA. Every pound of chitterlings has 52 calories. Chitterlings are said to have a trace mineral that helps thyroids function and reduce your risk of heart disease and asthma, as well as keep your immune system healthy.

Outline:

(Paragraph 1):

· Background on why I do not like chitterlings and my experience with them

(Paragraph 2):

· History of chitterlings and their nutrition facts

(Paragraph 3):

· Benefits and disadvantages of chitterlings

(Paragraph 4):

· Different ways they can be cooked

(Conclusion):

· Learning the background of chitlins and what they could do for me, has my feelings about them? Would I cook them for my family?

WEEK 4

Week 4 Assignment:

Thesis: Chitterlings are not very good and many people don't know the history, the different ways they can be cooked, and the benefits of chitterlings.

To begin with, Chitterlings have a broad history that people who consume them might find quite interesting. Chitterlings are a culinary dish made from the large intestines of a hog. Sometimes the intestines of cattle and other animals are sometimes used. Chitterlings Originated in the UK and were a common peasant food in medieval England. Chitterlings have a really bad smell when cooked and because of that they were cooked outdoors. Chitlins became a popular southern food, and by the mid-century, people all over the U.S. began starting chitterling-eating clubs. There were clubs like the Royal Order of Chitlin Eaters of Nashville, Tennessee, and the Happy Chitlin Eaters of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Furthermore, there are many different ways chitterlings can be cooked. Depending on where you're from you probably cook chitterlings differently from others. In the U.S. we clean the chitterlings well then we either boil, steam, or fry them. They're usually doused in vinegar and served with hot sauce. In other countries like New Zealand they use sheep and lamb intestines. In New Zealand they braid and boil the chitterlings with cabbage and potatoes and serve them as a dish called terotero. While in Korea or Japan their Chitterlings are used for stews or soups. If you are a fan of Chitterlings I recommend traveling around the world and trying the different ways they are served and prepared.

Additionally, chitterlings have a lot of benefits that could be beneficial to many people. Chitterlings are said to be able to reduce your risk of heart disease and asthma, as well as keep your immune system healthy. Chitterlings contain a strong amount of zinc. Zinc is a mineral our body uses to heal wounds, grow cells and metabolize carbohydrates. Chitterlings contain 1.6mg of Zinc. In every 3oz serving of chitterlings they average about 198 calories, 10.6g of proteins, zero carbs and 17.3g of fat. This information gives chitterlings a great nutritional balance.

WEEK 5

Instructions

Strong beginnings and endings have the ability to persuade readers to read through an essay and to believe the writer's argument. Spend time crafting, revising, and editing the introductory paragraph.

The Introductory Paragraph should include all the most interesting highlights. Remember while a movie trailer attempts to attract the viewer through visual means, the introductory paragraph attempts to attract the reader through powerful images in words:

· Create a strong hook.

· Add at least 2-3 sentences of the most interesting supporting details and/or evidence.

· Revise your thesis statement from the Week 3 Assignment and add it as the last sentence in the introduction.

· Submit the Introductory Paragraph in one MSWord document by 11:59 PM EST Sunday, Week 5.

The smell is loud and unpleasant but many people find it tasty. In fact It's been a part of a lot of common meals for many years. Chitterlings are considered a soul food item in many cultures. The smell of chitterlings when they are being cooked is so displeasing they are usually cooked outside. Chitterlings are not something I’d consider myself ever eating not only due to the smell, but because of what they are made out of. Chitterlings dont have the best smell or taste but many people eat them without knowing its history, the different ways they can be cooked, and the benefits of chitterlings.

WEEK 6

Instructions

Strong beginnings and endings have the ability to persuade readers to read through an essay and to believe the writer's argument. Spend time crafting, revising, and editing your conclusion.

The Concluding Paragraph is a summary of the most interesting highlights, including the hook. There is no new information. Remember like a bad ending to a pretty decent film, you do not want to leave your reader unsatisfied by providing a weak or rushed conclusion. Spend some time giving your reader one last reason to believe your argument/assertion.

· Summarize at least 2-3 sentences of the most interesting supporting details and/or evidence. Present them in a new way with new words and a new word order; in other words, the reader should not recognize sentences from earlier in the essay.

· Restate the thesis in a new way with new words and a new word order. The reader should not recognize the thesis statement.

· Submit the Concluding Paragraph in one MSWord document by 11:59 PM EST Sunday, Week 6.
