Student Presentations
You must prepare a Power Point presentation (see example provided) to describe one of the organisms
listed below. You will have 8-10 minutes to present with an additional 2-3 minutes to answer any
questions. Use the presentation template provided along with information from the book and the
internet to discuss the following:
-General characteristics (Gram type, motility, growth, capsule, toxins, etc.).
-Prevalence in population, diseases associated with pathogen and symptoms
-Mode of transmission, diagnosis and treatment/prevention
You are also encouraged to provide real-life cases in your discussion, as well as historical notes, or any
other interesting fact associated with the organism. Be sure to provide all references used for the
preparation of the presentation. You will submit your presentation no less than 3 days before your
presentation date to ensure completeness and to incorporate it to the lecture presentation. Remember
that your presentation will be the primary study resource for the rest of the class!
