PRACTICUM

Access the DNP Practicum Resource page and review the basic practicum requirements for your program.

During your practicum, you will be required to submit artifacts and documents for successful course completion. This will include practicum documentation, time logs, discussions, progress reports, oral presentations, and site evaluations unique to your program.

Doctoral Project and Practicum

The doctoral project and associated practicum are the culminating components of your professional doctoral degree. It is essential that you begin thinking about your project and practicum, even in this first course, so you are well prepared for your doctoral journey.

Practicum

Identify the basic requirements and explore facets of the practicum you want to think about as you begin planning for this experience.

· View the  NHS Doctoral Program Journey  media presentation for your degree program. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of your doctoral program.

· Go to the  Practicum  page on Campus and find your program:

. Review the expectations and requirements to acquire a practicum site for your program.

. In this orientation message, the site-based learning team offers an overview and information about your practicum and the process behind 

· Take a look at the  Practicum Preparation Tracker .

. The Practicum Preparation Tracker lists all of the tasks, and as you update what you have done, it tells you what is next, keeps track of your progress, and provides a dashboard where you can visualize your progress. Give it a try: Put in a date, update your tasks, and see how it works.

· Learn more about the IRB review process on the  Institutional Review Board (IRB)  Campus page.

. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is required for all Capella doctoral learner projects. (You will need to know this for the questions below!). IRB review ensures research complies with federal regulations and ethical practices for human protections. Capella University's IRB is responsible for reviewing all research involving human participants or records, including all research by learners engaged in the dissertation process.
