Presentation Criteria

5 pts

A

You provide a presentation 10-15 slides in length. Communication style and word choice is highly appropriate (e.g., highly professional, confident, encouraging and persuasive) for intended audience. Layout integrates presentation best practices, (e.g., excellent use of white space, text/image placement). Provides relevant, visually appealing, and illustrative graphics, pictures, tables, etc. All of these enhance understanding of the concepts, ideas, and relationships.

4 pts

B

You provide a presentation 8-10 slides in length. Communication style and word choice is appropriate (e.g., professional, confident, and persuasive) for intended audience. Layout generally conforms to presentation best practices, though may be 1-2 slides with an awkward layout, e.g., poor font choices or excess/insufficient white space. Provides visually appealing and illustrative graphics, pictures, tables, etc. Most of these enhance understanding of the information.

3 pts

C

You provide a presentation 5-8 slides in length. Communication style and word choice is fairly appropriate through much of the presentation (e.g., professional, confident and persuasive) for intended audience. Layout shows some structure but does not conform to presentation best practices (e.g., has large gaps of white space OR insufficient white space, poor font choices, etc.) Provides graphics, pictures, tables, etc. Some do not enhance understanding of the information.

2 pts

D

Your presentation does not meet the requirements for 10-15 slides in length. Often uses informal or inappropriate language or terminology for intended audience. Layout does not conform to presentation best practices; it is non-professional and/or lacks a discernable pattern. No graphics, pictures, tables, etc. are used, or those that are used are inappropriate to the audience/message.
