Has the so called " War on Drugs" declared by president Richard Nixon, made a impact in The United States?

Topic Sentences:

1. Movement of narcotics in the U.S has been effected.

2.The use of narcotics in the U.S has been effected.

Support:

1. Due to more attention being brought to the stop of drug trafficking, law enforcement began to crack down harder on people distributing and selling narcotics.

2. Due to drug dealers being caught and persecuted, drug flow on to the streets has declined.

Counter Argument:

1. Drug traffickers in the U.S have already been embedded for quite sometime, have found many ways to get drugs in to The United States.

2. People being afraid of limited amounts of drugs being distributed on to the streets, are causing them to buy more before shipments become scarce.
