Business purpose

The main purpose of this business is to provide quality personal computing devices to each and every individual in order to empower them. This is achieved through development of innovative and quality products that will help to shape how people think, communicate, learn and work. The business also purposes to provide simple products that can be used by anyone from the young to the elderly.

Project Management Purpose

The main purpose of project management is to predict or foresee challenges and risks that face the business and help to plan, organize and control tasks so that the objectives of the project can be achieved in spite of all the dangers. The element of uncertainty and risk implies that tasks and events leading to the project completion cannot be predicted accurately. Project management helps to mitigate such risks (Thompson & PMP, 2019).

PMO functional Responsibilities

PMO takes various responsibilities within the organization. One of its functions is to ensure quality within the organization. PMO is also tasked to coordinate projects and resources. This involves managing the available supplies and people for the project. PMO also take the function of strategic project management. This is achieved by prioritizing processes and managing project selection.

PMO Business Alignment

This involves making the PMO more visible by carrying a strategic title that shows focus on corporate objectives and business initiatives. Effective communication is also important as it provides project information that helps the management to make informed decisions. Stronger governance is also vital in defining what should be done to achieve the objectives of the project as well as analyzing and evaluating different initiatives.

PMO Business Affiliation

This entails building strong relationship between the executive board members. This is very important as it allows them to make informed decisions. It also involves enhancing affiliation between the project team and the business. This helps to create a sense of corporation which is very important in any project. It also involves strengthening the relationship between technical advisory and the business. This is very vital for any project to achieve its objectives.

PMO Authority

PMO authority involves standardizing the billing process as well as the revenue reporting process. It also entails financial management. This helps to determine the financial resources needed for the completion of the project. It also involves developing budgets for new projects within an organization. This helps to determine the total financial resources needed in a project (Papacharalampous, 2017).

PMO Resource and Funding

The resources needed for the PMO are provided by the executive management. The project team presents a budget that is approved by the organization management. The management then examines the budget and then makes necessary adjustment before approving it. Enough financial resources are then allocated to help in the implementation phase of the project (Worcester & McPherson, 2015).

PMO Reviewers and Approvers

This involves handing over the project details including design by the project team to the management for approval. The management reviews the entire plan to establish any mistakes that may have been done. A report is sent to the project team for correction and then returned to the management. The execrative management then makes any other changes before approving the project. Once the project has been approved the project team begins the implementation phase.
