Prompt:

Plato makes an observation concerning the divide between “men of action” who utilize Rhetoric and “men of thought” who pursue Philosophy.

First, why does Plato view the pursuit of Philosophy as superior to that of Rhetoric? What is the difference between these pursuits and the men who follow them?

Second, even though Plato places the pursuit of Philosophy as superior to that of Rhetoric, why does he see men of thought as incomplete? Why should the ideal be the combination of men of thought with men of action?
