Cooperation and Conflicts

Issues influencing Western Europe

Annotated video-In this video I will lecture on European Economy and Settlement and a variety of climates and physical features. Marzano 9 identifying similarities and differences will be implemented.

Collaborative Assignment- Students will work together as a whole group to formulate an understanding of citizenship roles in western Europe and how they are influenced by a variety of factors that includes climate and physical features.

“Must Do”- Students will complete a chart on citizenship roles in western Europe. Marzano 9 nonlinguistic representations will be implemented. (25 minutes)

Independent assignments- Students will receive a handout and use the handout to answer the question about Western Europe. Marzano 9 Summarizing and Note-Taking will be implemented.

“Must Do”- Students will complete the handout and answer all questions. (30 minutes)

“Should Do” The students should summarize what they learn about Western Europe. (30 minutes)

“Aspire to Do”- The students should aspire to attempt to label the river on the map. (25 minutes)

Mastery Check- The check will take a quick quiz to check for understanding to see if they mastered the skills. Feedback will be given to the students. (15 minutes)

Issues Influencing Eastern Europe

Annotated video - In this lecture I will discuss the geographic influences on Eastern European Cultures. Marzano 9 Setting objectives and providing feedback.

Collaborative Assignment- Students will work together in groups of twos to identify the geography area that influences European cultures. (25 minutes)

Independent assignments

“Must Do”- The students will be able to identify the geography areas that influences European cultures. (30 minutes)

“Should Do”- The students should be able to label the of different countries in Eastern Europe. (25 minutes)

Issues Influencing Latin American

Annotated video- In this lecture the students will learn about the Latin American Government. Students will be asked take notes throughout this lecture. Marzano 9 Summarizing and note taking.

Collaborative Assignment- The students will work individual as they take notes about Latin American. Students will share their ideas and thought about the governments that will be discuss. (30 minutes)

Independent assignments- The students will be able to take notes about the Latin American Government and learn some quick facts.

“Must Do”-Students will compare and contrast the Governments of Brazil, Cuba, and Mexico using a graphic organizer. (50 minutes)

“Should Do”- The students should be able to draw the flag for each country. (35 minutes)

“Aspire to Do”-The students should be able to write a summary about a country in their own words. (25 minutes)

Annotated video- In this lecture I will discuss the settlement of the patterns and economies of the countries of East Asia have been directly influenced by the different climate and physical geography. Marzano 9 Cooperative Learning

Collaborative Assignment- Students will work in small groups of threes. Students will be able to discuss the different climate and physical geography. (25 minutes)

Independent assignments

“Must Do”-The students will be match the physical characteristics to its correct name. (30 minutes)

“Should Do”- The students should be able to locate countries on a major route. (30 minutes)

“Aspire to Do”-The students should be able to write the physical characteristic of the major landmark. (30 minutes)
