Hi, I've now reviewed your Turnip Plaza report and provide feedback here.  This is a really good start that covers a lot of ground.  In terms of improvement, the organization does need some work.  You begin with labeling a section for "Introduction," but then there are no other sections.  Ideally, there'd be a labeled section corresponding to each of the questions posed (theories, damages, ethics) and a final section for recommendations.    At the end of your paper is what seems like a letter to the VP, but really that isn't needed, but just a section for "recommendations" is needed at the end.  More in-text citation is also needed throughout the report, including citation to the class materials using the citation format laid out in the classroom water cooler discussion area.  In terms of substance, you address the major legal theories which include breach of contract and promissory estoppel, although more depth on them would help. For instance, related to the breach of contract, you should consider the statute of frauds and its requirement that contracts that cannot be completed in a year must be in writing.  For promissory estoppel, a more detailed analysis of its elements and how they may be met under the facts of this scenario would improve things.  For damages, you address a potential tort claim and punitive damages and general damages as related to them, but remedies, both equitable and monetary for the breach of contract and reliance damages for promissory estoppel should also be discussed.  The part on ethics is in need of the most improvement.  Here, you should identify, explain, and apply some of the major theories of ethics discussed in the readings (e.g., utilitarianism, virtue, deontology).  Be sure to flesh out the details of each theory and how it may apply to the facts.  This is a good start, but a bit more work is needed!  Contact me with any questions.
