PILLARS OF ANALYSIS
My chosen pillar of analysis is rituals.
I selected this pillar because rituals take place in various religions and beliefs even if they differ from one religion to the other (Newman, & Graham, 2018). The rituals provide a framework of the religions weaving everyday activities as well as the beliefs of the people into a single cloth of religious devotion. It is a sign that the people are putting the faith they have into actions and practice. They, therefore, have the element of motivating and keeping the people moving through the creation and sustenance of identity. Even as people move away from religious ceremonies, they still rituals to mark major points in their lives (Aksoz-Efe, et al., 2018). Personal rituals, for example, create a feeling of connection in the grand scheme of things. Religious rituals solve problems through the creation of a repertoire of actions and words concerning an appropriate occasion. The ritual has beaten time factors through ensuring continuity and reliability and it is both a blessing and a curse (Sahu, 2017).
