PEERS RESPONSE:

I would have to say what I have learned through the research process in this class is to pay attention to what I am choosing for my references for the essay. The activities have helped tremendously throughout this course, and I feel that the exercises helped make sure I understood how to do the essay effectively. As I was progressing through this class, when it reached week 3, was when I realized that one source was not substantial enough for my essay, so I did further digging through the Ashford Library and found one that would be beneficial for my essay. Another helpful thing was receiving feedback from the class. One stated that my thesis statement should include how practitioners help cut costs in healthcare, which I updated my statement to reflect the change.

I think the stages came pretty easy for me; the only thing that I found challenging was, as stated above, finding suitable sources to help support my essay. Researching Skills are crucial forever for students and everyone who is not attending school as it helps with showing others that you are constantly learning and proving to others. Any information that you have provided has evidence that can be traced to a credible source.

My topic for my essay is regarding Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants and how they are beneficial to our healthcare system. While working in healthcare for five years, I have run into many patients who do not know who they are, what they do, and how they can help our healthcare system. Many patients believe that the two practitioners are not qualified enough when being compared to a physician. While there are slight differences, the two practitioners have both healthcare experience and a master’s degree to practice. This has helped with understanding the two professions as I could research the two professions more in-depth. The two skills that I have developed through this course are being able to sort through information and also how to write a critique essay. These skills can help build my resume to help strengthen my ability to document patient charts effectively.
