Objectives:
· Search the Internet effectively
· Identify web page sources
· Critically evaluate reliability of webpage content and sources
Requirements:
· For this assignment, you will be evaluating sources using the TRAAP Test.

Use these videos as a guideline to complete the evaluation of resources for your chosen topics.
· This assessment has 2 parts.
6. Part A: Identify and evaluate 2 resources on a topic related to Computer Ethics
6. Part B: Identify and evaluate 2 resources on a topic related to Computer Security
. Your goal is not to research and communicate the information. Your goal is to find and evaluate information on the web!
. For each Part, you will fill out and turn in a TRAAP worksheet evaluating the resources.
. Each Part is worth 50 points. You must earn at least 42 points (85%) on each part to pass the course.
· Competency 2 Required Assessment Part A
1. Select a topic related to computer ethics. Examples of topics could be:
1. privacy concerns
1. how computers affect society
1. intellectual property rights
1. copyrighted materials
1. music and film piracy
1. computer hoaxes and digital manipulation
1. impact of computers on physical health
1. computers in medicine
1. stress of ever-changing technology

. Once you have identified your topic, use a search engine and/or the school library website to identify 2 resources that you might use for this topic.
. Then, you will evaluate the 2 resources using the TRAAP test as shown in the Brookhaven Library Videos in the Study Guide by filling in the boxes in the attached document. (You may use 1 library resource and 1 web resource or 2 web resources, or 2 library resources.) Note: In competency 3 you will write a short paper on Computer Ethics using these resources so keep that in mind when selecting your topic.
