Topic: Effects on Learning Using Google Chrome and Word Processor Technologies

What I would like to know: Chrome makes accessing information easy and effective. It saves the students and teachers a lot of time when researching. I would like to know what kind of effect it has had on learning and literacy.

PART I

The technologies that interest me are Google Chrome and the Word processor. The internet browser has made learning easy and the research process has been made easy since one can access all the information they need from the internet. Google Chrome and Microsoft wordplay a very vital role in education. The applications enhance the productivity of the teacher and the students.

The reason I am interested in researching these technologies is because of the huge impacts that they have had on education and learning in general. With the word processing application, students and teachers can easily revise and review and highlight main ideas in their test. Google Chrome makes accessing information easy and effective. It saves the students and teachers a lot of time when researching.

PART II

The name of the article is “How Google Affects How Students Think”.The author of the piece is Terry Heick. The main idea in the article is how the thinking of the students has been affected by Google. The author argues that even the simplest things are googled. This makes the students think less since google has created an illusion of instant accessibility of information. When students are researching, they have developed the general term” google it” This is a rare opportunity that the students and the teachers have to get. Google has been helpful to the students.

From reading the source, I have learned that Google has very huge impacts on communication .literacy practices, and learning. In this digital age and with the advancement in technology, access to information has been made very easy. All information on all subjects can be found using this technology.

“There is an illusion of accessibility of information that is created by Google” The reason for selecting this passage is that the students always think that they can get all information that they need from the internet. However, there is some of the information that is not found on the internet and the students have to get the information from the actual physical books. This illusion affects the way students think.

PART III

The name of the article is “The effect of Word Processing on the Quality Writing of the Students”.The authors of the articles are Sharon Murphy, Ronald Owston, and Herbert Wideman. The main idea in the article that the word processor has helped improved the quality of writing of the students.

“Word processing has become commonplace in student writing” Word processing has had positive effects on the writing and revision of the students. (Loveland)

PART IV

The Question I have after completing the reading that wants to explore in my research is how the advancement of technology has impacted the learning of the students in schools.
