Reflect upon what happened; what worked and what didn’t work well. Share suggestions for next year’s events or any lessons learned from this experience that you’ll use for future event projects. Go into this experience thinking like an event manager, not as a just a volunteer.

· Details - Event title and details, clearly explain your volunteer shift date and times. If your experience falls short of assignment parameters, you need to explain here.

· Communications methods - Include a summary of pre-event and event-day methods used by the event managers. This could include emails, sign up portals, signage, radios, etc.

· Volunteer training – Summarize your experience. Did you find it to be enough training?

Event Summary and my experience of the event will help you write the reflection below:

The event is basically food and music there was a lot of different food carts like burgers, burrito, sweets and many other different food carts around the event site. There was stage with music band, and it was in a park (green area) called Margaret T. Hance Park.

Event title: Fried French Fry & Music

Volunteered as: Set Up / General Assistance

Date: Saturday, April 20, 2019

Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm

Communication methods: Pre-event we signed up on the event web as volunteer after that the communication was by emails were they sent the confirmation and the instructions as well as the event information. During the event the communication was by texting.

Volunteer training: I didn’t had training in this event because my part was so easy I was unwrapping the items from the boxes and putting them on the table and put covers on the food and bar tables as well as handing the blanket

Duties: I received the boxes of blankets and unwrapped them to hand them for the attendees in front of the music stage to set on them in the green area. I did the cover for the food tables with the plastic cover of the event. As well as the covering for the bar tables around the area. Also, we helped putting trash bags around the event site.

Volunteer hospitality: It will be great to appreciate the volunteers help with souvenirs. Also, to give the volunteers vouchers to get some food from the carts around event. Also, I think the site plan of the event could be better and having more than one sanitation in a big event like this one specially that it’s a food event.

The reflection paper should share specific remedies to any issues you have brought up.  A long list of complaints it not an acceptable paper.  What strategies or event management best practices would you implement to improve this event?  Your suggestions could be focused on volunteer management or on guest experience issues.
