Peer 1 A respond to his post:
Mood affects work. Let me dig deeper into that statement. When coming into work for a normal day, how do you feel? Do you feel like you're going to have a very productive day; do you feel like you don't want to do anything? Coming into work with a positive attitude will affect not only your work performance, but the others' around you. Trying to show up to work in a great mood, "good morning"-ing everybody, with a smile will brighten everyone's day and allow for greater work performance. On the other end, showing up looking angry or upset will only bring the mood down, especially if you're in a position of leadership. There are a few ways to combat this to try to stay positive on the way to work: dress well, working towards a promotion, getting a good review on work performance, and having a "day of the week" mentality - Mondays: "lets start the week productive," Fridays: "lets finish the week strong so we can enjoy our weekend (Thehrdigest.com)." In the public service where you may work 24-hour shifts, starting the day with something productive can lead to a more productive day overall; this can be something as minute as making your bed.
