Topic Selection and Proposal

Students will define the chosen topic, provide a brief description of the emergent technology,

and write a thesis statement (refer to the tutorial on Thesis Statements found in the

Writing and Research Help area for help on this assignment). This is a team assignment.

Week 3

Annotated Bibliography

Students will assemble at least five scholarly academic references related to their specific

subsection that will be used to write the paper (refer to the tutorial on Scholarly References

and Accessing Library Databases found in the Writing and Research Help tab for help on this

assignment). Each student will list his or her references using APA format and provide a brief

explanation of each resource indicating how that resource will be used. The focus should be on

the student's specific research assignment. This is an individual assignment.

Week 4

Developed Outline

Students will submit a developed outline that includes main ideas, key points of evidence, and

preliminary analyses of their assigned sections of the Course Project. The outline should address

an analysis of the chosen technology's influence on society, considering all of the following

components: social, cultural, political, economic, and environmental impacts. This is an individual

assignment.

Week 5

Individual Draft

Students will submit rough drafts of their research paper sections to help create the foundation

for the Team Draft. This is an individual assignment.

Week 6

Team Draft

Students will submit their Team Drafts with attention to team components such as the abstract,

table of contents, team introduction, conclusion, transitions, style, and format. This is a team

assignment.

Week 7

Final Research Paper

Teams will submit the final draft of the research paper. The paper is expected to be professional

and written following APA guidelines. An APA paper template is provided

(above, under Guidelines) for students unfamiliar with these requirements.

The paper must incorporate all of the required components of the assignment and

suggested revisions, as well as demonstrate evidence of strong collaboration and

team work. This is a team assignment.

Week 8

Team Presentation

100

Students will create short PowerPoint presentations of

approximately 15 slides and 20 minutes, accompanied by video

and/or voice narration. This is a team assignment.
