Outline Research Proposal

An introduction

· The widespread use of technology around the world has affected child development. This is because most children are growing while they are using technology. Most of the technological devices are available for children and also for parents to use.

· The most used electronics are televisions, touch screen phones, and computers. Most children are always glued to their phones and other gadgets that they have neglected playing with other children and also interacting with their parents.

· Parents are also neglecting their roles, and they are also using technology to communicate with their children hence the human connection has been lost.

A brief statement of purpose

Technology has reduced the human connection between children and their parents and also between children and the society. As a result, the effective development and growth of children are affected. There is a need to carry out research to identify the causes of these problems and recommend strategies to improve child development in this technological era.

The rationale for conducting the study

· The study needs to be conducted to establish the main problem. The research study helps to identify the effect of technology on children development.

· When children are unable to grow and develop effectively, their future lives will be affected. Many grown children are unable to relate to their biological parents. This has led to a behavioral change which parents are unable to handle. This can also affect the academics of the children hence it is important to understand this topic.

Your hypotheses and research questions

Hypothesis: technology affects the development and growth of children and their relationship with parents.

· What are the recommendations towards improving early childhood development?

· What are the connections between technology and development of children?

· Which factors contribute to increased use of technology in early childhood?

Methods (participants, procedures, materials, instruments), and appropriate statistical test(s) for data analysis

The research will combine both qualitative and quantitative research. The participants who will be involved are parents and their children. The data can be analyzed through the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). This will ensure that the proper conclusions have been made and recommendations made.
