Your presentation topic can be anything related to organic chemistry –

some examples are any medicine, cosmetics, soaps, food, artificial food

flavors, artificial food colors, etc. The rubric for the presentation are:

 

Some medicines or cosmetics, describe how it is synthesized. Try to

point out the steps that you have learned in your class ( eg this is a

hydroxylation reaction / this is a dehydration reaction / this is a

bromination reaction / etc. etc). 

* If you are talking about some products that are isolated from a natural

source, discuss the steps of isolation. 

* Discuss briefly, if there is any toxicity / beneficial effect 

* If there is toxicity, what is your opinion to improve the product?
