Job Description: Credit Manager

My name is Belinda Jones and I am applying for the position of Credit Manager that has been listed by your company. I currently work as the accounts receivable clerk for all five branches of Central Supply. On my own time and financing I have acquired a bachelor’s degrees in accounting, and I am now three quarters thru acquiring my MBA degree in business. Many of the course I have taken will aid in me making the transition from A/R clerk to Credit Manager with ease. During my time with Central Supply Co. Inc. I have handled many company projects alone including many internal audits and three state audits. My past work record will also show that I held the position of Credit Manager for Catalog Sales Division of Maplehurst for 8 years prior to taking a position at Central Supply Company. During my course with the University of Phoenix I have done many projects using flow charts that applied to improving operations forecasting and its impact on business and many other valuable tools that would benefit any position I hold with ant company.

Improved Flow Chart Processes

The main objective of any flow chart project is to improve company processes. The need to improve upon the use of all the tools available along with flowcharting can improve the efficiency of collections and monitoring the trends of incoming funds. By creating a flow chart of monthly cash receipts received one can improve upon the predicting of the company’s month incoming case flow. A flow chart monitoring the monthly incoming cash flow would be the best indicator when major customers pay and if they fail to make a monthly payment.

Statistical Process Control Methods

The first project tackled by the current course I am taking was to learn how to use and implement statistical process control methods to suit any company’s daily business processes. The knowledge and understanding that the use of a control chart to aid in the statistical process and created a better understand of the aspects of the project and how it could apply to benefit any business. The other goal of this project was to study the variability and variation of process and how it can be use of control charts. The use and benefits of the Six sigma tools was reviewed in this project along with how their use helps manufacturing processes.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training

Many of projects done during the University of Phoenix’s MBA course were assigned and completed as a team effort, allowing class members to work together to choose project subjects and work with each other to achieve the class’s goals. Working as a team to gather and identify all the needed information, business objectives, operation of productivity, and the quality and defects of products (Jacob & Chase). It was also the team’s objective to determine all CTOS or critical-to-quality characteristics (CTQS). The CTQS characteristics show the internal quality parameters which will instruct the needs and desires of the company’s customer base. On each team member was given the task of evaluating the lean techniques and strategies of the group project and the way that the company the project was based on could improve efficiency (Jacob & Chase, 2018).

Operations Consulting

The goal of the 4th project was to learn how to create an operations consulting proposal. The study of the data from the operations consulting tools and management of supply chain would be able to aid any company in getting on or staying on a track to future profits (Jacob & Chase, 2018). A discount retailer Ollies was chosen for this project opposed to the group project choice of Walmart. The most valuable goal of this project was to find and indicate what resources and data would be needed to put in place an operations consulting firm.

Operations Forecasting

The choice of Walmart for the 5th and final team project was made to do use to create a comparison and contrast that would create a qualitative forecast to suit business’s needs. An operations forecasting done to aid companies or organizations to be prepared for a specific operation or service within a year’s period (Jacob & Chase, 2018). From this project the team should have learned the skill of forecasting has and the impact it has on the financial standing of the company. Other benefits of this project were to determine the tends of the company’s income, services or products, and goals.

Conclusion

My conclusion is as a current employee of Central Supply Company and the additional educational and experience I have that would be able to easily make the transition from A/ R clerk to Credit Manager. This would benefit the company in many ways, the of which would be my knowledge of the company and its customers, the 2nd would be the added benefit of my education and work experience prior to my employment with Central Supply Company. Simply I would be the best candidate to take over the position of Credit Manager.
