Operations Plan
Facilities
The organization will purchase the equipment as they are if the organization will attain
full potential. The advantage of buying the kit is that the business will have power over facilities,
enabling the company to make easy decisions. Moreover, the business can decide whether to
dispose of an item. They can also choose from installing the system to improve the operations.
Some of the facilities include air conditioners, chillers, boilers, pumps, among others. They will
be used to ensure that baking is efficient and effective. These facilities will enable the business to
operate and give the customers and the staff members a conducive environment for operations to
take place (Asantewa, Boateng & Henaku 2020).
The facilities will have a five-year life, after which the management will decide whether
to maintain or dispose of them as per the facilities' status. They can also plan to repair the
facilities to enable the continuous flow of operations. It is an advantage for the organization as
they have the right to use the property.
Production Process/ Description of Operations (if service company)
A cereal bar comprises a mixture of a cereal mixture comprising 25 to 75 percent of RTE
cereal pieces and about 5 to 15% of glycerin. It also includes corn syrup and a filter of discrete
agglomerates bound together with a second binder. There are three main steps of making cereal.
Firstly, a filter comprising of the milk protein product is formed together with a binder to form
discrete agglomerates containing particles bound together with a binder portion. The next step is
combining the agglomerates with cereal pieces to provide a premix (Asantewa, Boateng &

Henaku 2020). The premix is mixed with a binder system to form a mix. It is followed by
pressing the combination and cutting the cereal bars from the mashed mix.
There is equipment that will facilitate the process of making cereal. Mixers will be used
to mix the dough. Different bakers will have different ovens depending on the grain they are to
make. Stone deck ovens create unique hearth slices of bread, and convection ovens are suitable
for cookies and cakes. This will depend on the customer's needs. A dough proofer will also be
used in the process. Other types of equipment essential to the organization include a dough
sheeter, bread slicer, sheet pan racks, among others. Various departments will use this
equipment in their line of work to ensure that the organization's objective is attained. The kit will
also work toward quality control by providing that the cereal produced is of the right quality and
quantity. The management will also ensure that the equipment ensures consistency as the
products will be delivered in various proportions depending on demand and supply forces
(Asantewa, Boateng & Henaku 2020).
The organization will conduct several operational activities to ensure that sales increase
as time progresses. This will be done through strategies such as product promotion, production of
better-quality products, and better services for clients to increase loyalty, among other elements
that ensure the organization attains the main objective. The organization will maintain quality as
there is stiff competition from other community members (Asantewa, Boateng & Henaku 2020).
Research and Development
Research is very critical for the organization. If the organization does not conduct
research, the management will not know the shift in demand curves. They will have an idea of
how to reduce costs as their competitors have done. A research ad development team will be
deployed to ensure that the organization maintains proper growth and actualizes itself as early as

possible. It means that the organization will have to ensure that operations are carried out
smoothly. There are new and advanced cereal bars being developed in the economy, and it will
be best if the management stays abreast and conducts proper research as to whether the
organization maintains accurate records (Asantewa, Boateng & Henaku 2020). The manager of
operations will lead this department.
Personnel Needs in Operations
Jadeddreams will have several employees that ensure activities run smoothly. The bar
designer and decorator will use his artistic and technical skills to create a delicious bar with artful
pattering. Other employees required to conduct the business include the chocolatier. These are
the persons who will melt chocolate and combine it with designer ingredients to make delicious
bars. The executive pastry chef will oversee the creation of baked goods ad hire personnel. There
will be a food stylist who will prepare style food for photography and video shoots. They will
work with the art directors to produce enticing images. There is also a pastry chef specializing in
making pastries, bread, chocolates, and other goods. There will be a research and development
pastry chef that will be well versed in baking and food science. These are but the central
employees in the cereal unit (Asantewa, Boateng & Henaku 2020).
Technology Plan
Software needs
The software needed in the organization is Gofrugal. It is a bakery software that is a
comprehensive solution that covers all aspects of bakery operations. It aids the management in
planning the weekly production of items and controls each item's recipe with ingredient control.
It also aids in maintaining inventory with supplier details for all storage. It has a track packing
and labeling barcodes feature for packed items. It also helps the management get accurate

business insights from reports on sales, customer details, inventory spend, and more (González-
Montemayor et al., 2019).
Hardware Needs
Various computer hardware elements are required for any business. These are the
equipment used in conjunction with the software system to ensure smooth production of
operations. Computer hardware includes CPU, motherboard, monitor, mouse, server, router,
tablet, etc. All operational activities have been computerized, and organizations need computers
to advance in their operational activities. These computers are essential for making the business
productive and ensuring that all things run smoothly. The organization will require a server
system that will enable the management to communicate easily on the orders received and
prepare as per the clients' request (González- Montemayor et al., 2019).
Telecommunication Needs
Communication is part and parcel of the business, and the management has to ensure that
the organization has used an efficient communication system. These communication platforms
allow the customer to communicate with the business and request orders based on what they
want to purchase. Some telecommunication gadgets used are mobile phones, the internet, and
mobile applications, among other telecommunication gadgets. There is an increasing rate of
technology in business as people get to order products using the internet and even pay over the
phones. The organization may also offer door-to-door deliveries, and the mobile phone will be
used. Some clients will also prefer to order and get their products ready to get closer to the cereal
bar joint. That is why the organization has to invest in telecommunication technology to ensure
that all operations run smoothly and that all transactions have been recorded (González-
Montemayor et al., 2019).

Personnel Needs
This department requires staff members that are conversant with technology and know
something about production. They are to ensure that all technological appliances are acceptable
for use. There must be software and hardware personnel. They will be there to ensure a safe
installation of machines and ensure that all systems run as they should. They will also advise the
management in case of any technological appliance needed to run the business.
Management and Organization Plan
Key Management Employees
Some key employees will work with the management to ensure proper coordination of
operations. There will be two management staff. They will oversee the planning, organizing,
staffing directing, and controlling of activities in the organization. These managers will work
together to achieve the organization's objective and ensure that all operational activities run
smoothly. The managers will receive reports from every department and ensure that a practical
decision has been chosen (Voukkali et al., 2017). Moreover, the management will make all
financial decisions such as outsourcing loans, expansion decisions, and dropping or continuing
producing a commodity. They are at the top level in the management hierarchy with a monthly
salary of $3,500.
Each department will have its head, oversee operational activities, and ensure compliance
in activities. Moreover, the department heads will ensure safe levels of stocks and resolve any
conflicts in their department. They form part of the administrative departments. Each head of the
department will receive a monthly salary of $2,500. The organization will also have marketers
and other employees who will ensure operations run smoothly. They include operations,

cashiers, customer care, among others (Voukkali et al., 2017). Their monthly salary is $2,000 for
employees.
Advisors
Jadedreams will need an auditor and accountant's skills to ensure that all operations have
been accounted for. They will also facilitate the production of financial statements that will guide
the management in knowing the organization's financial position. The auditor is hired for three
months while the accountant is engaged on an annual basis. An attorney's expertise will be
required as they will ensure that the organization has complied with all statutory requirements.
They will also be useful when the organization has a lawsuit. The management will also require
a consultant to ensure that the government runs the organization most effectively and efficiently
(Voukkali et al., 2017). There will be industry specialists that work towards the promotion of the
operations in the organization. Technological consultants will be required to test their website's
strength as some clients will channel payments through mobile applications and websites.

Impact on Stakeholders
A business is described by how well they deal with their stakeholders such as suppliers,
customers, and the community (Wojciechowska-Solis & Śmiglak-Krajewska 2020).
Jadeddreams will be there to improve the lives of the community as it grows. The organization
will hire as many personnel as to possible in their operational activities and ensure that they earn
a basic salary to improve their living activities. The organization will ensure employees' proper
working conditions, such as flexible hours for personnel that work in intense departments such as
the kitchen. Employees will also be given allowances such as medical, leave pay, and pension to
motivate employees to focus on quality. Jadeddreams will also work with suppliers to ensure that
they are paid on time. They will also request quality products as they are selling commodities to
customers. The organization will also participate in charitable activities such as offering a

scholarship program to the best student. They will also provide internships to students wishing to
learn more about bakery units.
Environmental Impact
The organization will also focus on ensuring that waste management is done in the right
manner to protect the community from toxicants used by the organization. This involves
complying with all health standards and ensuring that all annual inspections are done in the right
way to promote the safety of the customers and the community. Moreover, the organization will
ensure that they focus on re-usable packaging products that promote the environment's well-
being. They will also work with research and development teams to develop green technology,
help the customers take care of their health, and reduce stress and diabetes ailments, as it has
been a significant cause of death for most persons (Wojciechowska-Solis & Śmiglak-Krajewska
2020).
