Assignment task

The coursework for the module is a 1,500 word (+ or – 10%) referenced essay. The

essay must be composed of an introduction, body and conclusion. The work should

be written in full sentences with paragraphs and should not include headings or

bullets points.

Your submitted work must include:

• page numbers

• be presented in size 12, Arial font

• have 1.5 line spacing,

• should be left hand aligned.

• Have an additional line space between paragraphs

Also, you must create and include a title page with the following information:

You are required to find and read one peer reviewed journal article dated within the

last 10 years on one of the following core nursing concepts

• Confidentiality in Nursing

• Emotional Intelligence in Nursing

Only choose ONE of the above core nursing concepts for this submission.

Assignment Task

You are required to write an academic essay to evidence your findings.

Write a summary of the article:

• In no more than 250 words and in your own words, outline the key points of

the article. What is the article about?

• Provide the full reference for the article using the Harvard style of cite the

right.

• Please place this as an appendix at the end of your assignment after your

reference list.

(You will be able to submit this summary via Turnitin to the module team to check

you have chosen a relevant peer reviewed journal article or primary research

paper on your chosen topic)

• You must clearly identify your chosen core nursing concept and your reason

for choosing it.

• You should also provide a clear plan of the essay by outlining its structure

Body of essay (1000 - 1250 words) Reflect on and answer the following:

• Find and use some further academic sources relating to this topic to

develop your discussion (outlining the evidence-base that either support

and/or contest the main ideas you have presented).

• Consider your chosen article and discuss how it fits into this evidence

base.

• Reflect on your learning about this topic and discuss how this relates to

your particular field of nursing.
