Types of management information systems.

An information system is a combination of elements that are put together in order to aid in transformation of data to information. Depending on the purpose, information systems can be categorized into various groups. Some of these groups include support and management information systems. In particular, they can be put into operation support systems, transactions support systems, process control systems, enterprise collaboration systems and management systems. Furthermore, management information system consist of several components. They include system hardware, one or more software, the system database, communication network and the members of stuff (Juneja, 2001). All together, the above items form an integration that helps achieve various tasks of data analysis, processing and communication.

Information Overload

Information is very important in any institution. However, there has been the challenge of managing and controlling the ever growing masses of information from our sources. Information overload is the term that is used to define this situation. Every day new data is fed to our systems. Some of the information could be crucial while most of it does not contribute much to our daily business operations. In many occasions, this information come from social media streams while others are as a result of processes carried out in our businesses. Due to information overload, some challenges have come up such as employee who spend most time looking it new information from social media (Juneja, 2001). This has reduced efforts made towards contributing for the growth and development of a business. However, poor effects of information overload can be managed by learning to concentrate on the information that is vital to the business operations while ignoring meaningless data.

Information Technology and Business Intelligence.

Business intelligence is the art of transforming business data into useful information. Currently, many businesses have adopted to the use of technology as a mechanism to improve their productivity (Prachi, 2001). Analysis of a business information has been very supportive in some decision making process such as estimating market prices, calculating production, human resource management and financial analysis. This is easily achieved when a proper information system is put in place.

The above articles discusses the information system as an integration of various elements and the importance of every components of an information system. Furthermore, the information overload and its impact in business operations as well as the importance of information system in providing business intelligence. As an IT professional it is very important to learn how the various component of the management information system work and how it can be improved to achieve set organization goals. Concerning the information overload, it is important to put information filter to ensure only necessary information gets into our systems. Finally, there has not been a good system that is able to store and analyze all the business information in order to provide perfect information for business intelligence. Thus, learning the best technics to provide business intelligence is inevitable.

The Information Technology in information society:

Management Information System are shortly called as MIS, which is important for success in any business organization. Generally, it combination of hardware networking and software systems to help work together and inform the process of information and helps to maximize the profits. The management information system supports decision-making process. The decision support system leads to analysis of organizational data and it suggests decisions made by supporters. In our case, MIS helps in obtaining the most current information and current flow rate which will help us to predict the next generation or future of sales. MIS helps in measuring revenue based on sales projections. It is not popular in the MIS strategy or practice system used. MIS strategy is more complex based on the system

This competition is based on the professional world, which works to make quick and reasonable decisions from competing Organizations. In many organizations, without the production of team size and income information system, running their business like small business. MIS also offers strategic planning and support the business. Institution organizers have been properly trained so, that they have the ability to use all the capabilities of MIS. Communication between management and information system professionals will always be separate works. In order to overcome this situation, we need to maintain good communication between the information system and operational businesses to help us build a good organizational structure.

One of the application of Management systems is the education system is very important in the society. It changed the process of schools and changed them positively, Many studies proved that MIS plays a vital role in classes and teaching. With the implementation of MIS, the skills of the principal and the teachers were greatly improved. Education system is one of the key areas for implementing MIS and more research.

It represents the role and importance of all information, management and information system decision systems and strategic and strategic planning. And the benefits of management and information systems are also important in implementing them in educational systems.

The Information Technology completely comprises on three factors like Data, Information, Knowledge. This field is changing constantly. So, developers require to update regularly and redefine its fundamentals. Data can be termed as a product of observations which doesn’t have no value until they process in to useful form to become Information. It is only physical signs. Information is data which gives value to understand the subject, present itself in answers to questions. Knowledge is combination of data and information. While Data is a property of things then Knowledge is property of human beliefs and judged to be true. It refines Information by transforming the info into instructions. The Main problem in Knowledge Management to represent the flow from data to information then to knowledge is in DIK Model which is Data Information Knowledge model. Without using any one of these three other doesn’t give proper meaning. Everyone is co related to each other.

Information deficiency in an organization might be or not, which completely depends on the organization privacy. In a company each should be in a secured manner. Communication between employees must be good. With poor communication there would some lose of data without proper information. So this leads bad reputation to the organization because submission of the late project would be huge loss and doesn’t reach the organizational goals. To avoid these problems, firstly manage and solve the problem in ordered way.If problem exits then considers its issues from the beginning and correct the problem which is simple to say  but difficult to accomplish. Losing personal information with clients like security issues may play major role to huge loss of company’s reputation. Many times, data is only part of the whole view how to measure satisfaction, towards a change. Then it is needed to store and present that data in a way that is helpful. If the data is not presented well at the time decisions are being made, then all this work is lost.

We hear the words information, data and knowledge and interpret them as identical/similar. It should be much easier when we take each word and define it interactively with examples.Personal information of 1.3 million customers open to the Internet exposed by Walmart jeweler partners. The main argument in the press was about security. A common mistake that people call information and data interchangeable. The data can not be lost physically and the data cannot be moved. On the other hand, information is a physical entity. Thus, we can recognize that what we know is Knowledge. Knowledge cannot be stored, computers do not understand what they are dealing with, do not have knowledge. Knowledge can be built with data and information.Data is information, a structured record and a set of facts of transactions.Information is a physical entity of data. Information can be quantified and obtained from a survey, a study and facts about the data (Whitney, 2007, p. 5).

Why do organization have information deficiency problem?

Organizations over a period of time have evolved with technological change and with progress, information has diversified, resulting in shifting priorities. Information is the basic unit of any organization to contribute to achievements. Information (data) in current trends can be structured, unstructured and semi-structured. Today's organizations have invested in maintaining and preserving this information to predict the trends that would result from prioritizing budgets for future years. Over the years, IT investments in an organization have fluctuated according to the requirements of an organization's budget. There are many reasons why there is a lack of information, including data silos, lost or bypassed data during transit, a poorly designed user interface, non-standard data formats, and changes in the type of data desired information.

We can solve these problems by migrating to the latest technologies that solve the problems of lack of information. The data now per day can be in the form of images, videos, information from sensors placed on any electronic device and this information is all unstructured in the sense that it can not be quantified to predict trends. To overcome this problem, we can transform this data to sit in a lake of data, data warehousing systems. But to build these tools, organizations need expensive investments. The data silos are the information contained in the server databases. If there are two sets of data silos for a service, it would be impossible to know which data is the most recent and to cause an accidental data merge. Information in an organization must be uniformly maintained. With the advent of cloud-based systems, without a loss for the longer duration with lower infrastructure costs data can be stored. The loss of data can be negligible with the use of pipelines and the use of snowmobiles (Amazon Web Services) that carry data in containers placed in vehicles and are transferred to a data center over multiple Availability Zones (Infogineering.net., 2017, p. 2).
