Research discussion

Research questions one: How does leadership style affect organizational performance?

In this research question, the independent variables are leadership style, while the dependent variable is organizational performance (Sukal, 2019). Typically, the independent variable is not affected by the change on the dependent variable but instead changes on its own. Leadership styles are methods used by organizations to run their business activities to accomplish their goals. Moreover, organizational performance entails various achievements of an entity that are accrued from its business operations. An ordinal scale of measurement can be used in this case.

Research questions two: Effects of the use of advanced technology on organizational performance?

In this case, technology is the independent variable, while organizational performance is the dependent variable. Advanced technology refers to scientific knowledge and skill used to increase production levels in an organization (Scott & Jacka, 2011). Organizational performance is the total output a company accrues from its business activities. The nominal scale of measure is the most appropriate scale to measure organizational performance.

Research questions three: Effects of alcohol on human health?

In this case, alcohol is the independent variable, while human health is the dependent variable. Usually, the dependent variable is affected by the independent variable. Alcohol contains ethanol that causes unrest in human health. Human health refers to the well-being of a person (Scott & Jacka, 2011). An ordinary scale of measurement can be used to measure the variables in this case.

Research questions four: Effects of increase in interest on the loan on the performance of commercial banks?

Interest on the loan is the independent variable, while the performance of commercial banks is the dependent variable (Scott & Jacka, 2011).

Interest on loans refers to charges impose on lenders from any financial institution. Performance of commercial banks is the general outcome that an organization accrues for running its business. In this case, an ordinal scale of measurement is used to measure the variables.

Research questions five: Effects of technology on students' performance?

In the case, technology is the independent variable while students' performance is the dependent variable. Technology in education is scientific knowledge used to improve the level of education (Sukal, 2019). Student performance refers to how students carry out their studies. An ordinal scale of measurement is appropriate to measure how technology affects students' performance.

Research questions six: what are the effects of smoking on human health?

Smoking is the independent variable, while human health is the dependent variable. Smoking is the inhalation of tobacco products, while social health is the well-being of the human condition (Carruthers & Maggard, 2019). An ordinal scale of measurement is used in this case.

Research questions seven: Effects of training on employee performance?

Training is the independent variable, while employee performance is the dependent variable (Carruthers & Maggard, 2019). Training involves equipping employees with the knowledge to perform their duties appropriately. Employee performance is the output that is accrued from different activities. An ordinal scale is used in this research question.

Research questions eight: How does management styles affect employee performance?

Management styles are the independent variable, while employee performance is the dependent (Carruthers & Maggard, 2019). Management styles are techniques used by the management to run business activities while employee performance is output accrued from employees' actions. An ordinal scale is used in this research question.

Research questions nine: Effects of labor cost on employee performance?

Labor costing is the independent variable, while employee performance is the dependent variable. Labor costing, in this case, refers to the sum of wages paid to employees. Employee performance is output accrued from employees' input (Scott & Jacka, 2011). An ordinal scale of measurement is appropriate in this research question.

Research questions ten: Effects of social media on students' performance?

In this case, social media is the independent variable, while students' performance is the independent variable. Social media is a platform where people interact and share information. Student performance refers to how students work on their studies (Scott & Jacka, 2011). In this research question, an ordinary scale of measurement is the appropriate method that should be used to measure the variables. In some instances, the independent variable directly or indirectly affects the dependent variable.
